In the band’s short history, A City Serene seems to have found a niche in an ever-changing genre. With catchy riffs, melodic vocals, and heavy breakdowns, these kids from San Diego have developed a sound seldom heard in a scene overwhelmed with similarity. In 2009, the female-fronted six-piece shared the stage at home and on the road with bands such as A Skylit Drive, I See Stars, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Emarosa, In Fear and Faith, Eyes Set To Kill, Broadway, Confide, Our Last Night, and many more, while finding themselves a spot among Alternative Press Magazines Top 10 Unsigned Bands of the Year. Holding down the #1 spot as Smartpunk.com’s top selling unsigned band for the first half of 2010, “A City Serene is already on their way up as one of the most anticipated screamo acts on the scene” according to AMP Magazine, while Alternative Press raves that “Baker provides melodic clean vocals as Bourgeois lends screams in a seamless balance of beauty and brutality.” The band will be hitting the road hard in 2010, touring alongside Lower Definition, Jamies Elsewhere, Gwen Stacy, and Mozart Season, as well as recording their debut full-length with producer Tom Denney (ex A Day To Remember) in October.
