JC & The Water Walkers

Going back to 1973 in Portland Oregon, J.C. & The Water Walkers was made up of four friends right out of Vietnam who just wanted to share music with the masses. They performed at festivals, theaters, sidewalks, pubs, coffee shops & parking lots. The sound they created was likened to The Faces, The Stones, Grateful Dead, Little Feat, and many others. The band was fronted by my long haired, hippie uncle, whose desire was to keep the pure sound of Rock & Blues alive. The band performed together for 8 years, sometimes changing it’s members, but always maintaining that distinct sound, bringing the music to the people, and leaving them wanting more! Their influences were based on artists such as Ronnie Lane, Gregg Allman, Rod Stewart, Paul Rogers, Phil Lesh, Jerry Garcia & Jeff Beck. In 1981, the band went there separate ways, but always kept in touch with one another over the years. After a long break, it was decided by my uncle in 1987 that I would take on the name of JC & The Water Walkers. The torch was passed onto me at the age of 17. So the music & the name was carried on over the next 18 years, playing at every club we could in the Pacific Northwest. Opening at festivals, playing in small dives, lounges, etc…. Now from Portland Oregon to Denver Colorado, the Water Walkers have found a new home! Since our first performance at The Zephyr Lounge in Aurora Colorado back in December 2009, our calendar has filled up quickly. Our lineup consists of four seasoned vetrans, who each bring a high caliber of musicianship to the group! We are now booking for the 2010 season, and are availble for your club, corporate event, private party, or music festival. Even after 30 years from it’s inception, JC & The Water Walkers can still bring it everytime! Come see what it’s all about!
