Polytoxic

Polytoxic, one of Denver’s favorite bands of the last few years, will be returning to Denver for a special one-night only reunion show on Saturday, December 29th. A capacity crowd of over 300 people attended their last reunion show at Quixote’s in November of ‘07, and it was so much fun they decided to do it again. "We hadn’t played in over a year, but it felt like not a day went by since our last show", said keyboardist/bassist C.R. Gruver. “The energy in the room was unbelievable, and it was such an amazing night that we agreed we’d be idiots to not do it again”, he added.

Polytoxic, comprised of Gruver, drummer Chadzilla, and guitarist/vocalist Tori Pater, are no strangers to the Denver music scene. Playing as a power-trio for only three short years, they quickly earned a strong and loyal following. They are best known for bringing huge shows to the city, including the critically acclaimed “Last Waltz Revisited” and “This is (not) Spinal Tap”. Fusing elements of funk, southern rock, blues, and New Orleans, their sound connects with a wide variety of listeners and creates an energetic party vibe everywhere they play.

Their break-up in September of 2006 left many people, including the band themselves, wondering if they would ever play again. More than a year went by with no sign of the trio; Gruver moved to New Orleans and joined Outformation, Chadzilla became involved in Denver bands Rocktapus and Double Parked, and Pater also continued playing music while pursuing a career in solar energy management. Ironically, their experiences away from each other would serve to broaden their sound even further, and eventually light the fire that would bring them back together for this very special Denver reunion.

Adding to the momentous quality of this show is the venue where they’ll be performing this time around. The Falcon, a brand new venue in Englewood, Colorado, opened December 1st, 2007 and features a state-of-the-art sound and light system, bowling, food, and stiff drinks. Created by the owners of the Gothic Theater, this new venue has all the class and ambiance of The Gothic, with a laid-back Rock-And-Bowl feel.

Tickets for the show are $10, and the show starts at 10pm. This is a very rare opportunity to see one of Denver’s best live bands. For more information visit The Falcon’s website at http://www.falconbowl.com. The Falcon is located at 3295 S Broadway Ave, Englewood, CO, two doors down from the Gothic Theatre.
