“Slippy LaRue is a trio of musicians from Columbia, Missouri with each member of the band containing a strong passion for music. Providing their blend of instrumental improvisation, composition and sound shaping, Slippy LaRue aims to stimulate the ears of their listeners as well as make them move. Their approach combines elements of instrumental music, songwriting, and a tasteful use of effects that successfully fuse during their live performances. By layering hypnotic melodies with an arsenal of effects, guitarist Andy Launder brings the entire melody section while bassist Brandon Sanborn and drummer Devin Kemp drop the booming rhythmic pulse that grooves. They view music with an open mind and use their wide variety of musical influences to create a musical sound that can take on any form at any given time.
They have come a long way since their formation in the fall of 2007. Traveling to neighboring states to play shows, they have proven they’re road savvy and that they have an incredible urge to spread their music by performing in front of new audiences. Already having performed shows in their home state of Missouri, Illinois, and Kansas; the ambitious trio will soon set out to Colorado, Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin. Slippy LaRue’s music is evolving rapidly due to the number of shows the band is performing. They are young, inspired, motivated and have their sights set on following their musical ambitions.
