Vinnie Maniscalco
Vinnie Maniscalco
Vincent Maniscalco aka Vinnie, is a well rounded turntablist who has been rocking house parties since his sophomore year at The Colorado University at Denver in 2009. His father J.D. Maniscalco is a professional percussionist and introduced him to music at a very early age. He played his first payed gig with a borrowed CD/Mixer console at the age of 14 for his mother's high school reunion at the Westin Hotel near the Westminster Promanade. Since then he knew what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. His dream was suspended until he purchased his first set of belt drive turntables his freshman year of college and started learning to scratch on vinyl records. He started spinning in basements and garages for his friend's birthday parties and random drinking extravaganzas. Before long word of mouth spread fast and he graduated to getting gigs at well known frat houses in Boulder, Pi Kappa Phi, and Sigma Nu. After realizing the wear and tear his equipment suffered from countless nights without a proper booth he wanted to take his hobby to a new level. He now has several residencies around the Denver Area including: Tuesdays at the miniBAR in Cherry Creek, Wednesdays and Saturdays at Oasis Hookah Bar Lounge and Restaurant, Thursdays at Mix Music Lounge, and Sundays at Bar Standard. Besides his residencies he has rocked countless venues including: Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom, The Funky Buddah Lounge, Owsley's, Club 753, Sharp's Roadhouse, Alto, The Goose (in Boulder), Bacaro (in Boulder for St. Pattys Day 2010), Diamond After Dark, The Wood Cellar (Evergreen CO), pool parties at The Metro Lofts, Opal Sushi Bar, Mom's Lake Music Festival (in Loveland, CO), and The Pines at Gennese. Not to mention he has been hired to perform at retail outlets such as "Metro Park" in the Cherry Creek mall as well as "Love Culture" at the Park Meadows Mall. His style of music is very dynamic, unique and fluctuates around the event/location he is spinning for. He is known to play dj sets that smoothly change genres from Dubstep to Breakbeats to bangin' Electro (with some top 40 influence) to Jump up Drum and Bass. He has been complimented by his wedding clients for his collection of electro/bmore/dubstep remixes of top 40 songs which transform the traditional wedding into an all out rager. Currently he is working on a hip hop side project titled "Fly and Family Stone" which includes himself scratching samples along with Jordan on the drum set with Ryan Hughes who produces and rhymes with Davis Stone. Their songs have been featured on local Boulder radio station 1190 AM and they plan to continue to produce their own music and perform live while taking samples from classic rock, jazz, and hip hop tracks. At the end of 2009, with the help of some of his friends, Vinnie created a music blog dedicated to "bass music," and only 5 months later it spawned a production, marketing, all-in-one event coordination company known today as Got Bass Music. The Got Bass Crew coined it's first electronic dance event, "Bass For Your Face," at a local warehouse known as The Primer Dome, in Denver, only to get shut down by the Vice & Drug Control Bureau at 1:30am for not having the proper permits and special events licenses. However, that did not stop them. They took their earnings and proceeded to host several club nights known as "Project Bass" with their partner Ryan Dykstra at "The Diamond After Dark." On May, 28th 2010 they hosted their first event in both rooms of the historical Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom. The entire crew threw dj sets with well known local artists: Ishe & Soleil, Zeno, Lea Luna, and Self Inflicted. Their headliner was B. Rich from "Party Like Us Records" who absolutely killed the speakers and tore Cervantes up. Since then the Got Bass Crew has been working on several different projects including their own YouTube channel documenting the electronic scene in Denver, establishing relationships with Beta Nightclub and hosting the Beatport Lounge, hosting their own stage at the new "Enter The Dubstep" Friday nights at Bar Standard (presented by Ryan Dykstra Nightlife) as well as occasional private parties which never fail to break the sound barrier. With such rapid growth Vinnie along with his partners and co-workers will continue their pursuit of creating a world renowned Record Label and Production Team dedicated to bringing only the best live entertainment to audiences across the world. If you are interested in booking any of the Got Bass Dj's or working together on street or online marketing projects please feel free to contact Vincent Maniscalco through facebook or email. bookings@gotbassmusic.com Send all blog promos/suggestions to: promo@gotbassmusic.com All other inquiries: gotbassmusic@gmail.com

Mikey Thunder
Mikey Thunder
Mikey Thunder likes to party. But more than that, Mikey Thunder just so happens to be the party. Thunder spins a genre-blending, bass-driven partyrock, fusing banging electronic beats with funk, hip-hop, soul, jazz, blues, swing, reggae and anything else the party may call for on the fly. With 19 years in the game, he's mastered the art of improvisation with an uncanny ability to work with and rework the vibe of the party with precision. If you’re a true connoisseur of the Colorado music scene, you’ve seen Mikey share the stage with any number of your favorite artists- no matter the genre.

It all began for Mikey at the age of 15 when he discovered DJing in Springfield , Mass. Thru friends older brother's record collections and the Hiphop scene in the city. From there he moved up to Burlington Vt. and immersed himself in the diverse musical culture. In the fall of 1999, he relocated to the mountains of Jackson Hole where he was soon kidnapped by Michael Franti and Spearhead for the Stay Human Tour. After opening for Spearhead in Jackson Hole, Thunder was handpicked by Michael Franti to open the rest of the tour, where he mixed beats into their sets, during set break, and scratched with their beatboxer, Radioactive.

After the Spearhead tour Mikey relocated to Boulder and continued to pursue his musical career. At that time Thunder also was an Atari playing stuntman/ DJ in the band Sonar. The band shared the stage with the Wailers at the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, the String Cheese Incident, and played Hightimes Magazine’s SXSW party, and the Cannabis Cup in Amsterdam. In the fall of 2009 Mikey joined the Pretty Lights crew, opened for over 30 shows on their tours and performed cuts on the Making Up a Changing Mind EP, released in 2010. He also has played the sold out Red Rocks Amphitheater runs with PL in 2012/13/14.

Since that time, he has made his presence known in every single facet of the Colorado music industry. Over the years he has shared the stage with an extremely diverse range of musicians, including (but certainly not limited to): Bassnectar, The Glitch Mob, The Disco Biscuits, Boombox, Soul Live, Lettuce, The Motet, Michal Menert, Nightmares on Wax, Mr. Scruff, DJ Krush, Bonobo, Z Trip, DJ Qbert, Pete Rock, DJ Premier, Jurassic 5, Slick Rick, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface killa, Red Man, Juicy J, and Big Boi of Outkast. Additionally, he has been prominently featured on such festivals as Shambhala, Sonic Bloom, Snowball, Global Dance Festival, and many others.

Mikey Thunder’s true talent lies in his versatility. Every Thunder performance presents something familiar in an entirely unfamiliar way, as well as something unfamiliar presented in a way that is immediately recognizable as Thunder.
