The Holdup
The Holdup
The Holdup is a California based Reggae band with heavy influences in the genres of Hip Hop and Pop. The group has released five full-length albums to date, all of which were written and produced by frontman Mike Garmany. Since releasing their debut album, Stay Gold, the band has garnered a great deal of commercial success and moved on to sell tens of thousands of records nationwide. Stay Gold debuted at #1 on the iTunes Reggae charts and the single “Good Times” was on rotation at a number of college radio programs and the coveted mainstream San Francisco station, Live 105. Every album from The Holdup since then has found the band reaching a new milestone. From 2010’s Confidence topping the iTunes Reggae chart and leading the band to receiving iTunes’ Best New Reggae Artist of 2010 award, to 2011’s Still Gold peaking at #2 on Billboard’s reggae chart. Their heavy urban appeal has even led to features on Mac Miller’s “MostDope” blog and 2 Chainz’ “Most Expensivest Shit” video series presented by GQ.
Katastro
Katastro
Tempe, Arizona based, Katastro was formed in 2007 by vocalist, Andy Chaves drummer, Andrew Stravers and guitarist, Tanner Riccio. Later on, bassist Ryan Weddle joined the band to complete the current line up. The band gained notoriety by creatively blending elements of rock, funk, blues and hip hop.

Since their inception, the band has continued to take the local scene by storm and quickly broke into the national circuit by performing with such acts as 311, Awolnation, Dirty Heads, New Politics, Tomorrows Bad Seeds, Pacific Dub and Passafire.

Most recently, Katastro has shared the stage with Rebelution at the Tempe Beach Park St. Patrick’s Day Festival, attracting more than 12,000 attendees. The band then spent this summer touring with Iration, The Green, Pepper and Dirty Heads.

Katastro’s first release was their 2007 EP entitled, “The Wonderful Daze” and was followed up by their 2008 release, “The Facts.” In 2009, the band put out their first full length album called, “Poking Holes in A Pattern” which was produced by Bob Hoag (The Ataris, The Format, Gin Blossoms). In October of 2011, Katastro released their 4th studio album entitled “Gentle Predator.”

The boys from the Valley of the Sun have big plans on the horizon. Their next Studio EP “No Mud No Lotus” is scheduled to be released Fall of 2014, with a follow up Full Length due out later next year.
