Gigantic Cheese Biscuits
Gigantic Cheese Biscuits
A unique lineup never before assembled featuring members of 3 pioneering live electronic bands coming together for a one-time very special set of music: Dominic Lalli, Jeremy Salken (Big Gigantic), Michael Kang, Michael Travis, Jason Hann (The String Cheese Incident / EOTO), Marc Brownstein & Aron Magner (The Disco Biscuits).
The Polish Ambassador
The Polish Ambassador
The Polish Ambassador (real name David Sugalski) is raising the bar for what it means to be a professionally touring musician. Sure, the electronic musician lays claim to producing the sweetest beats this side of the Milky Way Galaxy, but the world’s funkiest diplomat is also using his popularity to steer the millennial generation toward a nourishing and sustainable way of relating with art, community and the planet.
The Floozies
The Floozies
Just outside the jazz mecca of Kansas City springs liberal oasis Lawrence, Kansas—separated only by the waves of wheat from the epicenter of the electronic music revolution in Colorado. From Lawrence, it would logically follow that an act could rise to prominence fueled by the swing of Basie, the birth of Charlie Parker’s bebop, and the wild frontier of electronica. Born in funk and bred in the digital age, live electronic duo The Floozies have burst onto the scene at a time when the industry needed them the most.
Brothers Matt and Mark Hill share the stage just as easily as they share a musical brain. Without a setlist, and without a word between them, Matt’s guitar is in lockstep with the thud of Mark’s kick. Endless looping and production builds the raw scenery upon which palm muted chugs, searing solos, and wobbling bass paint their dazzling array of colors.
Well versed in everything from Chris Cornell to Kavinsky, the sonic vision shared by the brothers eschews contemporary electronic influences in favor of broader, deeper tastes including Zapp & Roger, Lettuce, and Amon Tobin. That wide-angle view of a century of popular music allows the Hills to remix Toto and The Dead—in the music you can hear reverence for the giants of the past, all the while producing wildly futuristic tunes for the masses to dig now.
When the pendulum swung as far as it could away from live instrumentation to laptops, The Floozies rose up to the challenge, swinging as hard as they could in the other direction with neck- snapping, knee-breaking funk so dirty that the gatekeepers stood up, wiped themselves off, and took notice. A bold live show full of sonic exploration and unbreakably deep pocket grooves has landed the brothers on stage with luminaries of the jam world Umphrey’s McGee as readily as electronic elites STS9 and Big Gigantic. Sold out shows across the Country, huge festival appearances at Bonnaroo, Electric Forest, High Sierra, Summercamp, Wakarusa, Camp Bisco, Summerset, Bumbershoot, and a sold out Red Rocks show with Griz have continued to cement the duo’s ascent.
The Floozies are bringing the funk back, and they’re right on time.
Claude VonStroke
Claude VonStroke
In this day and age of music cross-pollination, Claude VonStroke sits at the forefront of all that is good, proper and most importantly, fun. He is just the same at home remixing Kenny Larkin or London Grammar as he is dropping multiple underground hits. DJ wise, his relentless touring of every major city, festival and basement after-party around the world has only enriched this unique perspective on music.
Raised in Detroit and now based in Venice Beach, Barclay Crenshaw created the quirky alias "Claude VonStroke" in 2005 and went on to become one of the most well respected label owners and DJs in dance music. His first release, 'Deep Throat' was a hit putting his imprint on the decks of DJs around the globe. But the real breakthrough came with double-header 'The Whistler/Who's Afraid of Detroit?.' The 12" cemented Claude's reputation as a producer to be reckoned with, crossing borders, genres and musical ears and is now known as one of the classic dance releases of the decade.
Since then, VonStroke has released three original artist albums, a remix album and several high profile mix compilations. Highlights include a collaboration with the legendary P-Funk bassist Bootsy Collins as well as a few number #1 & #2 hits on Beatport. Most importantly, VonStroke has kept it original, fun and funky.
As the owner of the record label, DIRTYBIRD, VonStroke also built an impeccable A&R roster signing (and even naming some) acts like Justin Martin, Julio Bashmore, Catz n Dogz, Riva Starr, Tim Green, Breach, Eats Everything, Justin Jay & Shiba San well before they broke out of their hometown scenes. Today, the DIRTYBIRD label continues to surprise and innovate in the underground dance scene, releasing an enigmatic combination of house, funk, dirty-bass and electronica. Staying true to Crenshaw's Detroit heritage, DIRTYBIRD donates 10% of its profits to a children's music school in Detroit.
A lot of the success of DIRTYBIRD and VonStroke can be attributed to a good attitude. Claude VonStroke does not scowl and look mean while he DJs. He does not pretend to know everything and he truly loves his fans. He is grateful to be doing music for a living and he knows that the reason people go to parties is to shake their ass and have fun. Catch him play at numerous festivals, clubs or even better at his legendary DIRTYBIRD BBQ series of outdoor events.
Ott
Ott
Ott has been messing about with sound boxes every day for as long as he can remember. Having spent the ‘90s flitting between his day-job as a freelance studio engineer and long weekends under the stars at psychedelic trance parties, the obvious next step, as the millennium turned, was to create music of his own from the jumble of sounds which filled his head.

After teaming up with Twisted Records, 2002 saw the release of the acclaimed ‘Hallucinogen In Dub’ album, followed in short order by his first solo effort, ‘Blumenkraft’ in 2003. 2008 saw the release of ‘Skylon’ and in 2011 the album ‘Mir’ was born.

A pattern has formed: every four years or so an album coalesces from the chaos, heads out into the world and takes on a life of its own. 2015 is one of those years.

Financed by a wildly successful Kickstarter campaign, Ott built a new studio, filled it with vintage sound-creation toys and locked the door, vowing not to emerge until a new record was born. The original 6 month deadline came and went but, a year after he started, the thing is finished.

August 11th will see the release of Ott’s latest studio album - details of which will emerge over the coming weeks.
