GAUDI
GAUDI
Gaudi's innovative approach to live performance and versatility as a producer has kept him at the forefront of his field throughout a notable and prolific career. His music is stylistically hard to pin down as he is an artist in constant evolution. His musical exploration, over the last 30 years in the industry, has however seen him foray into punk, new wave, dub and reggae, world, experimental electronica and 'stuff that rocks dancefloors'.. he has however got deep roots, which run like a vein throughout his music, and they are in the big basslines and spacious soundscapes of dub and the anarchic sonic potential of the world of electronic music… where anything's possible.

He's a full time internationally touring solo artist, a studio producer in demand and a respected musical innovator. He's had chart hits, gold discs and awards & nominations for his work; he has released 12 solo albums, has more than 250 productions and 90 remixes to his name and his tracks feature on more than 120 compilations... There is however no resting on laurels for this London-based, international bass man.

Gaudi's been up to rather a lot over the last 30 years so to save you having to wade through the whole history... find the section you need by clicking on the relevant link below...
Roommate
Roommate
San Francisco based artist Roommate (Justin McCauley) has a musical career that can be described as prolific and ever changing. His tireless efforts in both production and DJ'ing have currently brought him to the forefront of the worldwide bass music community. With over a decade of solid DJ'ing and countless original production releases, you can be sure Roommate has secured his title on an international scale.

Beginning his musical quest with guitar lessons at the age of 11, Roommate has since developed his craft to an undeniable style and fashion by intergrating both organic and electronic sounds. After self releasing his first solo album (Dubfunk vol1) in 2003, he quickly gained musical notiriety in the U.S. counter culture. When dubstep first hit the U.S. streets, Roommate was quick to find a love and understanding for the music and begin production. Joining forces with L.A. based artist and long time friend No Thing, the two formed another key part of dubstep history; Babylon System. Roommate / Babylon System contributed many of the early U.S. dubstep releases such as "50 Blocks Away"," Examination of TIme", and "Loaded" to name a few. After a slew of quality releases, Roommate was sky rocketed into the international limelight. Years of global touring followed with undying passion and intensity at every show.

Co founding the rip roaring label Hollow Point Recordings with friend and artist SPL was another huge step for Roommate. Gaining confindence from consistant releases and great sales, Roommate used Hollow Point to push the boundaries of sound and express his musical tastes. Following Hollow Point, Roommate branched out to creat two new musical imprints. King Dubbist and Avocaudio are Roommate's latest forward thinking incarnations. Focusing on huge vibes and stellar production, these labels span from Dubstep to Trip-hop to Reggae. Fusing and encompassing Roommate's broad and compelling love for musical freshness.

Currently, Roommate is still touring avidly all over the world and spreading his custom art everywhere he goes. He is focusing on releasing two full length Dubstep/Reggae and Trip hop albums in the near future. His labels and projects will continue to grow and influence the music and art communities for years to come. Roommate's live show never dissappoints and always reflects his energy and skill. Get inspired by a true rising artist and check out his other projects: Babylon System (with No Thing), OSC (with Antiserum), and Awesome Sauce (with Chris Young).

Akara
Akara
Created by Joshua Penman, a conservatory-trained classical composer turned electronic producer, Akara's mystical dance-floow symphonies are songs of luminous extra-dimensional beings, sung across the veil of reality. Akara's music is intricately scored for a live ensemble of classical musicians and the haunting vocals of Ffemke Weidema. It is a deep, mystical journey into another world, fusing a
n enormously wide palette of musical influences with a generous helping of bass. Filigreed and beautiful and immersive, there is nothing like Akara.

Akara is the mature endpoint of a long process of musical study and mystical inquiry, spanning three continents and nearly twelve years. Before creating Akara, Joshua Penman earned a doctorate studying classical composition, sang medieval music, played in Balinese and Sudanese gamelans, studied six languages, went to Burning Man three times, scored four films, and lived in India, learning ragas with a master Indian singer. All the while, he held and refined the vision of a musical ensemble that would create the ritual music of another dimension.

Deeply influenced by psychedelic ambient music and the global bass phenomenon, Akara is a new kind of composed electronic music: elegant and filigreed, immersive and otherworldly. It is intricately scored for a live ensemble of up to eleven musicians and the haunting female vocals of Femke Weidema, and fuses an enormous number of musical influences with a generous helping of bass. The word "Akara" comes from the Indonesian words "akar", meaning root or vine, and "acara", meaning ritual or performance. Akara is a mystical, ritual music, the songs of luminous extra-dimensional beings with melodies and words at once new and familiar, a strange and beautiful dream, a dance-floor journey into another world.

Caustik
Caustik
I lived in the UK from '95-'97 and it changed my life! Put down my guitar, picked up DJing, and went to my first massive raves there. In '97 I moved from the UK to St. Louis, MO where I gave myself the mission to spread the music I had come to love, hardcore rave music. And for those who don't know, at that time it was jungle/DnB, Happy Hardcore, and Gabber!
Fortunately, I became friends with a
few musically like-minded DJs and I believe we helped to give STL's underground hardcore rave scene a strong UK influence. I played mostly DnB in and around STL with many residencies along the way, to name a few, "Dedication" Thursdays at LO (RIP), "Weird Science" on 90.3FM (RIP), Sunday "Ritual" at Upstairs Lounge, and the "Love Hz" show Fridays on bassdrive.com.
I caught the dubstep bug around 2006 thanks to my good buddy Jim K, and we ended up playing many shows together, the "Dub Hz" show on Dubstep.fm, and Jim K's dubstep night at Upstairs Lounge, among countless one-off's in and around STL.
I relocated to Colorado in the summer of 2010 and I'm absolutely loving the bass music scene out here and am looking forward to what the future has in store!
