Trichome

Trichome takes rhythms from world music and blends them with aspects of rock, funk, and electronic to create a unique sound you can't help
but groove to. Couple that sound with tailoring unique set-lists and
song transitions with each outstanding live show, the energy this band
exudes is a force to be reckoned with.
Since their inception in 2005, Trichome has made a heavy dent on the
already phenomenal Colorado music scene. With unique lyrics from lead
singer Evan Daldegan, the driving bass lines of Dave Frediani, the
piercing guitar lines from Matt Newhard, and the powerful presence of
Mike Windham on saxophone and keyboards, it makes for an explosive
front line. Add in the passion of Matt Schooley on percussion and Jeff
Dejohn on the drums and there is a full sound that is nothing less
than transcendental.
Trichome has begun to bring their original and infectious sound to the
national music scene. In addition to garnering the attention and
acclaim of many across the country, Trichome is becoming a sought
after act for many summer music festivals. In the summer of 2011, the
band included Wakarusa Music Festival and their second appearance at
the Summer Camp Music Festival on tour. At the latter, Trichome had
the distinction of being joined on stage by Rob Derhak from the band
moe.
Trichome has joined many major nationally-touring acts on stage,
including: Chicago Afrobeat Project, Juno What!?, Groundation,
Sophistafunk, Rubblebucket, Juno What!?, Kinetix, Euforquestra, and
YAMN. With one full-length studio album ("Where Creation Now Grows")
under their belts, and a second to be released early next year, the
band looks to dig deeper into their musical exploration and continue
to bring fans in with the positive force of their fresh and funky
musical grooves. Trichome is certainly the band to look out for in the
Colorado and national music scene.
