Luke The Knife
Luke The Knife
After nearly 10 years of composing and playing guitar and keyboards for the band Lotus, Luke Miller turns his musical skills and experience towards the DJ booth. The idea was to bring funk and disco back to the dance floor in an EDM world that's sounding more and more digitized. In the Fall of 2012, Luke started working on remixing and re-editing tracks, and by the end of December, Luke the Knife was born.

Performing both standard DJ sets and live sets that incorporate guitar and keys along with guest drummers, percussionists, and saxophonists, Luke the Knife started with a few packed shows in Colorado, where he currently resides. For the first show outside the state, he sold out B.B. King's Lucille's Room in Times Square for a 2 1/2 hour dance party that left people asking for more, even at 4 in the morning. Now, he is hitting the road to open up for Chicago's electronic rock stalwarts Future Rock on select dates, including New York City, Philadelphia, and Chicago.

Harkening back to the days when editing tape required an X-Acto Number 2, Luke's cuts merge the old and the new, utilizing modern production techniques to give a bigger punch to the funky tracks of yore. Luke has released over 20 remixes/re-edits and 8 continuous mixes that have been streamed and downloaded on SoundCloud. The response has been strong for both releases and live shows, with The Untz stating, "This is booty-shaking music," and Live for Live Music proclaiming, "[Luke] blends a healthy mix of Funk, Disco and Dance for a mind-blowing performance."
Beard-o-Bees
Beard-o-Bees
Jesse Miller (bassist/composer for Lotus) has been performing and releasing original music and remixes under the name Beard-o-Bees.

For live performances Beard-o-Bees takes “button pushing” to a whole new level using several grid controllers (grids of LED buttons – such as the Monome), his own custom designed software, Moog synths and a melodica to play parts in real time, build beats, manipulate and mix sounds for a truly unique electronic performance.

The latest Beard-o-Bees release, Imperfect Grid, is built upon melodies, bass lines and sounds crafted using Miller’s analog synthesizer collection and meticulously edited to create dance-oriented electronic music. Tracks such as “Juneau Empire” contrast catchy synth hooks with quick cuts over a four-to-the-floor beat while “Lomi” is a cinematic piece of minimalism built on a deep, gritty two-step beat and expanding with layers of piano, cello and glockenspiel.
Cosby Sweater
Cosby Sweater
Cosby Sweater is a new and vibrant voice in live electronic music. The versatile trio is comprised of David Embry on production and vocals, Nicholas Gerlach on Tenor Saxophone and EWI and Richard “Sleepy” Floyd on drums.

Cosby Sweater has been on the road making crowds dance since their launch in 2012. Summer festival season in 2013 was great to Cosby Sweater. Joel Cummins of Umphrey’s McGee joined the band for some break out performances at Electric Forest, Camp Bisco, and Summer Camp.

Fall 2013 (#Cooltourbro) was the biggest tour of their career. The band is honored to have shared the stage with acts like Umphrey’s McGee, Lotus, Eoto, Deltron 3030, Digital Tape Machine, Future Rock, and Zoogma. The tour covered 23 different states. They have shown no signs of slowing down.

2014 is already gearing up to be the best year to date. Winter tour is coming to a town near you.
