Sometimes the moment of clarity becomes something continual, rather than an instant. For Denver rock reggae/ska outfit, P-Nuckle, that evolution is about to be more apparent than ever. A matured sense of lucidity, coupled with the experience of a musical career spanning over a decade, has the group poised and ready for national ascent. Known for a dedicated passion for delivering messages of hope and triumph over adversity has allowed the band to cultivate an extremely loyal fanbase; one that is sure to grow with the release of the band's fourth studio album, "Stand Up and Bitch". Slotted for a release this fall, the album will give fans a direct glimpse of a full-grown set of ideals from one of Colorado's most recognized bands. With eclectic musical influences ranging from Dancehall Reggae to straight ahead punk rock, P-Nuckle has always created a memorable live experience. While their next album may be a bit more mature, don't expect any less intense of a live show. The band is ready to celebrate the journey that has created this album with a beefed up tour schedule. The national P-Nuckle family of fans, affectionately known as "Nuckleheads" will get the chance to see more of the band, then they have in the past year, and have every opportunity to be a part of the vibe of a P-Nuckle show. There are some bands that are a part of the times, and then there are some bands that create the times. Get ready for P-Nuckle!!!
The west coast of Wisconsin is not typically thought of as a hotbed of alternative reggae music. However, TUGG, hailing from La Crosse, WI has done an amazing job channeling tropical grooves and breezy melodies and has quickly become a top draw in the Midwest and beyond. Coming from a state known more for the Green Bay Packers, cold weather, and cheese, they boast an impressive resume of rubbing
shoulders with reggae heavyweights. From shows with Barrington Levy and Slightly Stoopid to recording tracks with the likes of Pato Banton, Josh Heinrichs, and Outlaw Nation, TUGG continues to prove why they are a fast rising star in the alternative reggae scene. All of the bands last 3 albums have debuted in the Top 50 of the iTunes Reggae Chart. Their most recent album, Home Brew EP went to #2 and spent 3 weeks in the Hot 100 iTunes Reggae Album Chart. Last Spring TUGG was asked by The Dirty Heads (EMG) to provide support for a string of shows in the Midwest on their first ever headlining tour, which included a sold out show at the House of Blues-Chicago on St. Patrick’s Day. It is often said that to achieve greatness you must first surround yourself with greatness. If that is any indication about TUGG than their future is looking good. In the last few years alone they have been fortunate enough to share the stage with: Slightly Stoopid, The Dirty Heads, Cage the Elephant, SOJA, Barrington Levy, Pepper, The Aggrolites, Tribal Seeds, Ballyhoo!, Iration, The Movement, Mad Professor, Karl Denson, Rusted Root, Pato Banton, The Ziggens, Josh Heinrichs, New Politics, Pacific Dub, Tech Nine and many more. Green River Vibe
Green River Vibe
Green River Vibe assembled through the collaboration between Ted Kleist
and Alex Mackenzie-Low. Ted Kleist took his so-cal roots from San Diego,
California, and fused them with the spontaneous and passionate
lyrical/musical compositions of vocalist/guitarist, Alex Mackenzie-Low.
The duo immediately found power in their collaborative songwriting skills,
constantly feeding off of their education in music business, production,
and performance at the University of Colorado Denver. They proceeded in a
series of drum and bass searching, aiming to find the perfect
accompaniment for the band, ultimately finding Mic Wolfer and Chris Cook.
Mic synergized his reggae-rock drum feels, while the minnesotan raised
bassist, Chris, lended his Minnesotan smooth yet defined baselines. The
group instantly found themselves making great music, and continued
expanding this sound with their constant desire to "cut the edge" by
throwing in elements of hip hop, electronica, ballad, and dub. It was at
this point that G.R.V. (Green River Vibe) began playing around at local
venues, consistently engaging in new opportunities, and spreading the vibe
to a whole new breed of listeners.
Green Genes
Green Genes
A unique mixture of reggae, soul, funk, jazz, indie, acoustic, and jam/improv with songwriter structures and multiple hybrid styles forming a one-of-a-kind original sound with an "irie" presence and sound meaning. It's a sure shot of "Peace, Love, and Unity"!!! which will help connect you to a higher level, and make the art of "dancing"..... easy!
The band formed in the spring of 2011 when Jordan pitched the idea to Taylor. The idea was to create a movement through music to spread positivity and consciousness while representing the exquisite state of Colorado. Since then the lineup has expanded to include Danny on bass, Pancho on guitar, and Drew on drums. All of the members have been involved in the Denver music scene for at least 8 years now. Collectively the crew has been involved in dozens of recordings and hundreds of shows. Ranging from metal to jazz, and from reggae to funk. Now these guys are putting their experience and energy into their live show. Stay tuned in the next few weeks for the release of their first recordings, videos, and unusual merchandise lineup. If you get a chance to see their set, it will be an unforgettable mix of energy, passion and love. They bring a funky, aggressive reggae sound that will make you dance your ass off. Their show will take your head off your shoulders and put it on the top of a Colorado mountain peak."
