Through The Roots
Through The Roots
From what was once a dream inspired by close friends, to humble beginnings filled with living room jams, late nights writing songs in the garage, backyard house parties and countless complaints from neighbors, San Diego-based reggae/rock band Through the Roots was born.

By coincidence in early 2008, Evan Hawkins and Taylor Boatwright met at a local guitar center. It was there that Evan shared his vision with Taylor, which eventually led to the beginning of TTR.

Evan and Taylor came from different musical backgrounds but shared some similar musical tastes, and both were very moved by reggae. They believed TTR would provide them with the perfect vehicle to spread their message and adopted a Cali reggae/rock concept.

In late 2008, Through the Roots added Brady O'Rear to round out the group's core. He brought his own musical tastes, complete with Hawaiian Islands reggae, and mixed them with those of Evan's and Taylor's to give TTR a broader range of ideas and influences to draw from.

Through the Roots quickly moved from the streets and backyard shows to touring in 2010 and soon hooked up for West Coast and national tours with some of the reggae/rock genres top headliners. The San Diego band eventually added Corrick Watson (lead guitar/vocals) and Budda Foster (bassist/keys) from Los Angeles to the talented, five-man mix.

With the band set, Through the Roots looks forward to continue spreading its positive messages, and showcasing its high energy shows to a growing legion of fans.
Gracie Bassie
Gracie Bassie
Getting her start in her hometown of Durango, Colorado, Gracie Bassie has long been moved by the reggae culture and music by surrounding herself with inspiring influences that have helped her to become the confident yet humble musician/artist she is today. In 2008, Gracie bought her first bass guitar and was taught how to play her bass like a real "rootswoman" with guidance of Jamaican producer Lincoln Jarrett. From there she formed A-DUB-ROCK Band, opening up for acts such as The Mighty Diamonds and Sister Carol. Soon after she was performing at Reggae on the River with Marlon Asher and recieved a call from musical idol Anthony B, asking her to join his band in Kingston, Jamaica whom she toured with until later residing in Kingston and playing with Earl "Chinna" Smith's "Inna di Yaad" band, backing Max Romeo and his children, alongside Leroy "Horsemouth" drummer from the famous Jamaican movie "Rockers" and many other talented musicians and artistes. As much as she loved to play bass, she loved even more to sing while playing bass, landing her gigs in Kingston and beyond. These experiences have helped her to cultivate a talent that is an undeniable and powerful force which cannot be ignored. Gracie's sound is a perfectly-blended mix consisting of classic old school dub tributes and her own original soon-to-be released songs with a few surprises thrown in for your listening pleasure.
Lola Rising
Lola Rising
Inspired from a song Paul once wrote about the passing of his `Lola` (means Grandmother in Filipino), coupled with `Rising` evokes images of spirituality and embraces the human condition. Their dance-able rhythms, honest poetry, and smooth melodic multi-part harmonies makes their music familiar, fun, accessible, vivid, and thought-provoking.
Lola Rising is an Island Folk Rock band also known as "Jahawaiian" that is ukulele driven with high energy melodic dance rhythms and soaring guitars. Combing Lola Rising's dance rhythms with their vocal harmonies, makes for a perfect storm to bring everyone together for an amazing singalong dance party. From the depths of musty parking garages & gangsters in the Tokyo underworld; to fly-fishing the Animas River & crossing the Great Divide,
everything is inspiration; Lola is on the Rise.
