Everyone Orchestra
Everyone Orchestra
TEveryone Orchestra’s conductor, Matt Butler has been leading a rotating cast of accredited musicians through full-length shows that are entirely improvised, since 2001, after touring with the rock band Jambay. In 2012, Butler gathered particularly well-known musicians from bands like Phish, Moe., and others, and recorded Everyone Orchestra’s first studio album, Brooklyn Sessions [2012], which was still largely improvised.

“The experience of playing with different musicians, improvising every night, and getting the crowd involved in ways that they can’t be at a regular show has provided an unparalleled live music experience,” said Butler.

Everyone Orchestra conductor/founder Matt Butler has taken its participants, both on stage and off, on improvisational journeys with the most diverse of lineups at festivals, theaters and philanthropic events both nationally and internationally. A laundry list of hundreds of musicians, dancers, singers, guest conductors and community organizations have embraced the experience of EO in single shots of musical adrenaline to the soul. Tuning in to his energy, the band and audience utilize The Conductor as their pivot to the set mood of each passing jam as he communicates with the musicians using hand signs, whiteboard and assorted mime suggestions.

The list of Everyone Orchestra participants is an increasingly wide and intercontinental group including members of the Grateful Dead, Phish, The Allman Brothers Band, Furthur, Widespread Panic, Ratdog, Gov't Mule, Ween, String Cheese Incident, The Meters, Umphrey's McGee, The Disco Biscuits, Big Gigantic, Moe., Yonder Mountain String Band, Thievery Corporation, Trey Anastasio Band, JRAD, Lotus, Galactic, Soulive, Leftover Salmon, Turkuaz, The Revivalists, Twiddle, Dopapod, The New Mastersounds, The Punch Brothers, Dumpstaphunk, Lettuce, The Infamous Stringdusters, Railroad Earth, ALO, The Motet, and many more. EO also counts Tuvan throat singers, live painters, dancers, chanters, choirs, hula hoopers, firespinners, jugglers, stiltwalkers, storytellers, a presidential candidate and hundreds of others among a growing legion of participating performers.

Marching clearly into uncharted territory, Everyone Orchestra balances the challenges of live group improvisation with triumphant tension and release conduits of music which head deep into the soul. This unique collaborative of performance deeply encourages and requires audience interaction. The edge of your seat enthusiasm for what is next is the fuel behind the continuous musical experiment of Everyone Orchestra.
Claude Coleman, Jr.
Claude Coleman, Jr.
Claude Coleman, Jr. is the drummer for the alternative rock group Ween. He has also worked with Eagles of Death Metal, Chocolate Genius, The Wooden Soldiers, Elysian Fields and currently 3 Input Woman.

A multi-instrumentalist, Coleman is also the singer/songwriter for his own group Amandla. In 2007, he released his second album as Amandla, titled The Full Catastrophe. In June 2013, Coleman raised $11,158 through Indiegogo to fund his third album.

Coleman survived a near-fatal car accident on August 7, 2002, in which he suffered multiple pelvic fractures and brain injuries. During his extensive and difficult recovery, members of Ween organized a series of benefit concerts on October 7 and 8, 2002, New York's Bowery Ballroom. Josh Freese performed with Ween in Coleman's place. Coleman ultimately recovered sufficiently to resume his touring and recording activities, and remained an active member of Ween until their dissolution in May 2012. He performed with Ween during their Colorado concerts on 12-14 February 2016.

Coleman is also active in music education through the Paul Green School of Rock, and through the New York City music program Music Ascension. Throughout his musical career, especially when touring with Ween, Coleman has been known for his creative percussive styles (e.g. playing his drum set bare-handed in when performing live in Chicago, to emulate a "bongo-esque" sound).
Michael Travis
Michael Travis
Michael Travis is a pioneer in the art of modern improvisational jam-rock drumming. He is especially known for his groundbreaking work on playing both hand drums and the drum kit simultaneously. As the drummer for the highly accomplished band, The String Cheese Incident, he has developed a unique style that is very supportive of a free jam aesthetic while still always laying it down. He further develops that approach in Zilla by being super solid to the point of emulating grooves that some of the best programmers and DJs would create, except with that elusive human feel. Travis has played along side some of the worlds greatest drummers while playing with String Cheese including Trilok Gurtu, Babatunde Olatunji and Bill Kreutzman and he has collaborated with many other artists including Keller Williams, Karl Denson, Warren Haynes and Bela Fleck. With Zilla, he gets to stretch-out into brand-new territory by playing drums, percussion, sampler and keyboards at the same time during the show.

Rastasaurus
Rastasaurus
Rastasaurus was uncovered in the concrete jungles of Denver, Colorado, where they’ve been building an enthusiastic following around their new reggae sound. Centered around the prolific songwriting of Justus Lacewell (vocals, guitar), Rastasaurus also includes lifelong musical pals and identical twin brothers Eric (lead guitar) and Mark Ciccone (bass). The thick, psychedelic grooves of Ryan Kerr (keyboards) and the smooth, funky rhythms of Nick Souder (drums) round out the quintet.

With their original songs featuring an infusion of reggae with elements of funk, rock and roll, improvised jamming and dub, Rastasaurus is constantly exploring and expanding its own unique blend of American reggae.
