Cycles
Cycles
Cycles epitomize the power-trio format with ripping guitar, fat bass grooves played out through furious slapping, and dynamic drum beats flowing over intricate tempo changes. Each member wields a unique take on their instrument that when played together, forms a truly fresh and cohesive sound. Patrick Harvey commands the guitar with speed and precision reminiscent of Jimmy Herring while using his loop pedal virtually as its own instrument, a skill unique only to him. Michael Wood has subtly forged a drum style that showcases his rare ability to mashup funky hip-hop beats with frenzied rock riffs and only displays flashy chops when necessary. At the heart of the band lies Tucker McClung’s dominant slap-bass chops that captivate audiences while pumping the musical blood through the band.

Drawing influence from artists such as Rage Against the Machine, J. Dilla, Primus, Weather Report, and many more, Cycles fuses an eclectic blend of genres to produce an original sound that has become harder and harder to find. Although only two years old, Cycles have over 200 shows under their belt with tours extending across the entire U.S.
lespecial
lespecial
Born in the woods of Connecticut and raised in the wilds of Boston, lespecial has established themselves as innovators and tastemakers on their own unique trajectory. The aggressive death-funk dance trio explodes with energetic live sets, tapping into a primitive past distorted through the lense of contemporary technology. Coming off the release of their second EP, Ceremony, preceded by Playonbrother Sessions (2011), Jonathan Grusauskas (guitar/keys/trumpet), Luke Bemand (bass guitar) and Rory Dolan (drums) ignore convention, instead amalgamating the familiar styles of Afro-Latin rhythmic traditions, Hip Hop, Funk and Metal into a singular sound that dexterously transforms during their live sets and over the course of their studio albums. As Ben Weiss of Relix Magazine puts it, “Amidst the rest of the noise, lespecial is the squeaky wheel that demands attention.”
The Elegant Plums
The Elegant Plums
The Elegant Plums started as a four-piece band out of the Northern Virginia/Washington D.C. area, and have since flourished into a Five-piece group calling Denver, CO and the Rocky Mountains Home. Members of the band have influence from all realms of the music world and have brought those sounds together to create a sweet stew of many genres. From blues, to rock, to funk, bluegrass, and so much more, the Plums do it all with each song based around improvisational jams. With soothing yet powerful vocals and guitar from Taylor Stevens, hard-hitting keyboard solos from Devin Galloway, intricate drum rhythms from Danny Price, funky bass lines from our dude Mike Tynan, and fiery riffs from our newest member Anthony Gaglia, the Plums always keep the crowd dancing and begging for more. To know The Elegant Plums one must experience their fun blend of diverse originals, and creative, curveball covers that can turn any normal evening into an elegant one.
