Everyone Orchestra conductor/founder Matt Butler has taken its participants, both on stage and off, on improvisational journeys with the most diverse of lineups at festivals, theaters and philanthropic events both nationally and internationally. A laundry list of hundreds of musicians, dancers, singers, guest conductors and community organizations have embraced the experience of EO in single shots of musical adrenaline to the soul. Tuning in to his energy, the band and audience utilize The Conductor as their pivot to the set mood of each passing jam as he communicates with the musicians using hand signs, whiteboard and assorted mime suggestions.
The list of Everyone Orchestra participants is an increasingly wide and intercontinental group including members of the Grateful Dead, Phish, The Allman Brothers Band, Furthur, Widespread Panic, Ratdog, Gov't Mule, Ween, String Cheese Incident, The Meters, Umphrey's McGee, The Disco Biscuits, Big Gigantic, Moe., Yonder Mountain String Band, Thievery Corporation, Trey Anastasio Band, JRAD, Lotus, Galactic, Soulive, Leftover Salmon, Turkuaz, The Revivalists, Twiddle, Dopapod, The New Mastersounds, The Punch Brothers, Dumpstaphunk, Lettuce, The Infamous Stringdusters, Railroad Earth, ALO, The Motet, and many more. EO also counts Tuvan throat singers, live painters, dancers, chanters, choirs, hula hoopers, firespinners, jugglers, stiltwalkers, storytellers, a presidential candidate and hundreds of others among a growing legion of participating performers.

His variegated brand of guitar, alternately subdued and vibrant, defies easy categorization. At times prog rock/jazz-inflected and at others gypsy-straightaway, his crystal clear tone has been captivating audiences for more than thirty years.
Kimock co-founded the Jazz/Rock fusion band Zero in the 80’s, KVHW in the 90’s and now tours under his own name. He is widely embraced by fans as one who carries the free-form torch of improvisation, through an extensive catalog of original material in his own bands, as well as through live performances with so many esteemed musicians. Kimock has performed alongside the likes of Bruce Hornsby (and can be heard on two of Hornsby’s releases), John Cipollina Jerry Garcia and all members of the Grateful Dead, as well as Peter Frampton, Bonnie Raitt, The Allman Brothers, Buddy Miles, Buddy Cage, Screamin’ Jay Hawkins, Bobby Vega, Martin Fierro , Joe Satriani, Baaba Maal, Angelique Kidjo, Elvin Bishop, George Porter Jr., Steve Winwood, Derek Trucks, Ivan Neville, Grace Slick, Papa John Creach, Norton Buffalo, Amos Garrett, Warren Haynes, Hadi Al Sadoon, Stephen Perkins, Nicky Hopkins, Freddie Roulette, and many more.
A relentless innovator as well as player, Kimock's focus leads to guitar & amp craftsmanship. Over the past few years, he collaborated on a series of highly collected custom Two-Rock “Kimock Amplifiers” as well as a coveted ergonomic Scott Walker brand guitar - built in stereo.
His passion and devotion to performing live improvisation is matchless, and his unparalleled ability to embrace and capture a theater musically is the stuff of legends.

John Kadlecik was born on June 28, 1969 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. His father a city manager, and his mother an artist, John's family moved every few years, and he grew up in several mid-western towns. Omaha, Nebraska; Cincinnati, Ohio; and then, in Davenport, Iowa at the age of nine, John began to study classical violin. Moving to Palatine, Illinois in the Chicago suburbs at the beginning of his high school years, John caught the rock-n-roll bug, and, on a quest to understand improvisation, began teaching himself guitar and mandolin. While still in high school, John played guitar in several bands, covering a broad spectrum of American and British “guitar rock” as well as writing songs and learning the rudiments of multi-track recording.
John flirted briefly with college life, going to William Rainey Harper College as a classical guitar music major. But, he began living on his own, and found work, school, and his own local bands to be too much on his plate. It was during this time that a friend turned John onto the Grateful Dead. He fell in love instantly, and, shortly thereafter, dropped out of college. By this time, however, John was already playing out a few times a year, anywhere an underage musician could find a gig, and Chicago would be where he called home for the next fifteen years of his life.
Once he turned twenty-one, John began playing regularly with several local and regional groups, most notably Hairball Willie and Uncle John's Band. While most of the bands he played with wrote their own music, in 1997 John co-founded the group, Dark Star Orchestra, a band exclusively devoted to playing the well-documented actual setlists of the Grateful Dead. Originally started as a side-project house band for some of the best local deadhead musicians, “DSO” rapidly became a nationally touring band, attracting many guests to join them onstage, including John Fishman, Mike Gordon, Sam Bush, Jorma Kaukonen John Popper, Sanjay Mishra, Tom Constanten, Vince Welnick, Donna Jean Godchaux-Mackay, Bill Kreutzmann, and Bob Weir to name a few.
While spending the better part of twelve years of his life touring with DSO, John also found time for other musical projects, both live and studio. A bluegrass band, numerous short-lived original groups, and then in 2003 John began playing sporadically with Melvin Seals. Out of those shows came a group with Melvin called The Mix, also featuring Greg Anton, Jeff Pevar, and Kevin Rosen. The Mix toured nationally and went on to sign a recording contract, releasing a full length CD in 2004 titled, American Spring, but eventually disbanded for lack time in everyone's schedule to tour. And then, of course, in 2009 John departed from Dark Star Orchestra to join Furthur.
John now lives near Washington, DC with his wife, Katy Gaughan, and, when not on the road with Furthur, performs in the DC area with the newly formed and simply named John K Band, as well as solo acoustic and special guest appearances.
Jennifer's live performances are renowned as spontaneous, joyful and contagious. Her natural charisma and sincerity shines through, and each performance is a celebration of musical collaboration; the camaraderie between Jennifer and her band mates is always visible. And whether she is wailing on the trumpet or singing an intimate vocal solo, her performance is all part of a single seamless instrument, one that is played not only with astounding technical proficiency, but also with sensitivity, conviction and heart.
The Jennifer Hartswick Band released their latest record, Ocean Floor last fall to rave reviews.
Hartswick has been an integral member of the Trey Anastasio Band since 2001 and you can find her performing with rock, jazz and gospel ensembles throughout the world.
The five souls in Elephant Revival are Sage Cook (banjo, guitar, mandolin, tenor banjo, bass and fiddle); Bridget Law (fiddle, octave fiddle); Bonnie Paine (washboard, djembe, musical saw, stompbox); Daniel Rodriguez (guitar, banjo, bass); and Dango Rose (double-bass, mandolin, banjo). All share vocals and write songs. Paine delivers additional beats via footstomps on plywood, her stockinged feet doing near jigs as her hands, encased in antique leather gloves, rub silver nickel against corrugated metal.
This Nederland, Colorado quintet are, needless to say, quite a sound to be experienced - especially when they fall into the pocket of a groove containing elements of gypsy, rock, Celtic, alt-country and folk.
The Indie Acoustic Music Project simply labeled their sound "progressive edge." At least, that's the category in which it placed the band when it gave their Ruff Shod/Nettwerk Records release, BREAK IN THE CLOUDS, a best CD of 2011 award. It's as good a label as any to convey what Rose has described as their mission: "to close the gap of separation between us through the eternal revelry of song and dance."
Elephant Revival also shares a commitment to responsible stewardship of the planet and its inhabitants, working with organizations such as the Conscious Alliance, Calling All Crows, Trees Water & People, and other nonprofits supporting humanitarian causes. Their very name was chosen out of empathy for a pair of zoo pachyderms who, upon being separated after 16 years, died on the same day. The band related that heart-rending story during their April 2012 debut on fellow Coloradoans Nick & Helen Forster's internationally syndicated "eTown" radio show - like Elephant Revival, a blend of music and social consciousness.
Sitting in the audience during their performance, one music blogger was moved to write, "Elephant Revival serenaded the crowd with arabesque melodies, harmonies and rhythms that braided and coiled into a sublime aural tapestry. Their instrumental dynamics, verse, and even the harrowing story that inspired their appellation, invoked the majesty, mystery and sorrow of Mother Earth."
Campout for the Cause festival organizers put it this way in an affectionate shoutout on their Facebook page. "We love Elephant Revival so much," they wrote, "not just for their incredible music and conscious lyrics, but for their commitment to living up to the standards they set forth and setting positive examples."
It's a paradigm worth spreading, and that's what Elephant Revival members intend to continue doing as they carry their music around the world, speaking one song at a time.

The group's charismatic approach bridges the gap between feel-good energy and conscious thinking, with lyrics that are warm, uplifting and joyful, yet personal and insightful. Formerly known as A-Mac DZ, the band debuted in 2013 and went on to play shows all over the country with well-known acts such as Rusted Root, Kyle Hollingsworth Band (of String Cheese Incident), Wookiefoot and many more. The band also received several accolades, including being nominated “Best Jam Band” by Westword Magazine in 2017 and have been showcased on 97.3 KBCO’s renowned Studio C Sessions.
Bringing an energetic and moving live performance to the stage, A-Mac & The Height encourages their audience to experience a genuine and uplifting musical journey with them. The group is also known for their jam band spirit as they create intricate and extended musical passages through improvisation and faith in the unknown. To accomplish all of this correctly, Alex Mackenzie-Low (a.k.a. A-Mac - Lead Vocals & Acoustic Guitar) carefully crafted The Height, consisting of Matt McElwain (Drums), Karl Rivers (Keyboards & Vocals), Stephen Edwards (Bass), Joey Bean (Saxophone & Vocals), Ted Kleist (Lead Guitar & Vocals), and Jake Heym (Percussion).
As a whole, the band continues to thrive not only in the Colorado music scene, but all over the country, with fans latching onto a beacon of light and happiness in a world operating in negativity.
Having vast on-tour and in-studio experience has enabled this group to touch into the deepest levels of musical literacy, allowing them to create each show as a “from the hip” experience – meaning each concert is 100% spontaneous and unplanned, with set lists and jams being determined in real time, in front of a live audience. While every single show is completely different, one thing remains the same: You never know what might happen, or who might join them on the stage, and it will always be an incredibly funky dance party.
