Nightmares on Wax
Nightmares on Wax
Iconic Warp mainstay Nightmares on Wax is announcing his long-anticipated return with new album Shape The Future. The marriage of soul, hip-hop, dub and timeless club sounds that N.O.W. has been mutating and perfecting for years finds perhaps its most fluid form yet on Shape The Future.

Energized by globetrotting runs of studio sessions and DJ sets, this latest salvo is a masterpiece of contemporary and classic genre-blending that solidifies Nightmares On Wax’s place as an inspirational electronic music figurehead. This includes the shamanistic vocals of recent single Back To Nature, and in particular the arresting voices of Mozez alongside Kanye West and Flume collaborator Allan Kingdom, as featured on brand new cut Citizen Kane.

Nightmares on Wax is one of the most influential artists of a generation, his music has inspired many musicians and producers across the globe over his quarter decade career. As Warp’s longest serving active artist, he has broadened the sound of the label and paved the way for artists such as Flying Lotus, Hudson Mohawke and Mount Kimbie.
Edamame
Edamame
Hailing from the city of Chicago, Edamame is the stage name of music producer Ed Harris. Mainly inspired by the great outdoors and different cultures of the world, Ed's productions are often full of organic elements and sounds that he has personally field-recorded while exploring the planet. By synthesizing instrumental hip hop with downtempo and further blending it with his deep love for world music, it's safe to say Edamame has carved a musical style that is truly unique. In his own words he simply creates "songs that help you float". Since starting in 2012, he has released 10 albums (the most recent being on Emancipator’s loci records) that have garnered tens of thousands of downloads, played his music live for fans coast to coast and internationally, had songs played on the radio in countries around the world, and even had United Airlines buy songs from him. It may be hard to believe that he used to be a nationally touring death metal vocalist.

"Posturing lo-fi atmospherics at the side of silky smooth crimson beats, singing synths, and verging almost new age in some breaths, Chicago instrumentalist Edamame falls genre-less on the ears and delightfully so. More of an organic experience than emotion-provoking, this beatmaster invites his listeners on a brainwave joyride." - 303Magazine.com

Derek Russo
Derek Russo
Currently based in Denver, CO, Derek Russo is a staple in the Colorado dance music scene. Raised in Washington, D.C. on house music and hip hop, Russo started his musical journey playing guitar in several bands throughout junior high and high school in the early 90's. His early influences were his sister's Prince and Led Zeppelin records, his dad's Fleetwood Mac, ABBA, and 60's surf rock records. The late 90's saw him immersed in the world of improvised rock music and jazz. Not until his early 20's did the electronic music world envelop him fully, pushing him to buy a set of turntables in 2002. He was immersed himself in a variety of sounds and was buying records at now shuttered D.C. shops like DJ Hut and Yoshitoshi. Downtempo nights at Eighteenth St. Lounge, legendary Sunday nights at Red with Sam "The Man" Burns, and the quirky party Lemur Lounge informed his formal years of clubbing and record shopping. A move to Colorado in 2004 saw him push his craft further with weekly residencies at Hapa and Trilogy in Boulder, before a move to Denver in 2013 shifted things once again to the present day.

Russo throws the bi-monthly party Family Affair with fellow DJ's Ejay, Jerome Baker, and Michael Jones. Family Affair is inspired by David Mancuso's Loft parties and strives to provide a warm family atmosphere in underground spaces throughout the city. Angelina Saavadra provides the decor and sets the vibe for an eclectic and uncompromising selection of deep house gems, classic disco, rousing funk jams and all things inbetween. Family Affair has become one of Denver's most beloved parties.

Known for his ability to adapt seemlessly to any type of DJ gig, he's equally comfortable playing lower bpm, eclectic opening sets, to banging out house and techno in a dark basement, to disco and funk party jams on a sunny rooftop.

He serves as the resident DJ at Knew Conscious Gallery, in addition to holding a monthly radio show entitled Morning Fever, a 2-hour show that airs every 2nd Sunday on internetpublicradio.live, with repeated rewinds throughout the month.
